Thomas C. Spoor, MD, FACS, is a board-certified ophthalmologist, fellowship-trained oculoplastic and orbital surgeon, and neuro-ophthalmologist practicing in Warren, Michigan. He is internationally recognized for optic-nerve decompression and orbital surgery. After earning his medical degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology and orbital surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He spent two decades in academic medicine — including service as Professor (Emeritus) of Ophthalmology at Wayne State University / Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit — training hundreds of residents and more than 30 fellows. A recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Honor Award, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), he is the author of seven books. His practice, Michigan Neuro-Ophthalmology & Oculoplastics, focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, orbit, and tear-duct system, neuro-ophthalmology, and dry eye.
